Hiding Hickey with Scarf or touching up the area with concealer always seems to be easy but it will not help your hickey to disappear completely.Sometimes You and your partner get over excited. You wake up next morning with big, round and purple red Bruise which is known as Hickey on your neck.
A hickey is a specific type of Purple red bruise which is produced when blood vessels break. The blood accumulates beneath the surface of the skin. When your partner sucks on and bites your skin that intensity breaks little tiny blood vessels under the skin surface. Hickeys can last from 3 days to 3 weeks and will take few days to heal depending on the intensity of the bruise.
How To Get Rid of Hickies Fast
Applying Concealer or Foundation on Hickey will help to hide your Hickies little but it will not fade away your hickies completely.Hickey will not go away instantly or overnight . These simple and easy hickey treatments might reduce the inflammation of your Hickies.
Here are few ways to remove hickies fast.
1. Aloe vera Gel
Aloe vera Gel is a natural Skin Moisturizer which will help you to get rid of hickeys fast. The slimy, thick, water-filled gelatinous pulp inside the aloe vera leaf will help to reduce skin inflammation and sensitivity of the affected skin area. Aloe Vera gel soothing properties will help to reduce skin swelling, pain and is the best way to get rid of hickies. Its Anti-inflammatory features will make it easier to burst the capillaries under your Skin and make them heal faster.
Extract fresh Aloe vera gel and massage the thick gel directly on the bruise. Do this three or five times a day to get rid of hickies.
If you have not planted an aloe vera plant at home, you can always use an aloe vera-based cream or lotion and apply it on the affected skin or bruise three to five times in a day to get rid of a hickey. If the pulp causes irritation or your skin seems sensitive to it, stop using it.
2. Cold Compress or Cold Spoon:
When you first notice a new bruise on your affected skin, you can put a cold compress or chilled spoon directly to the hickey. To heal a hickey, the blood clots need to be broken, so that the blood spreads out. The cold compress or cold spoon will help to slow down flow of blood to the ruptured capillaries and reduce bleeding to some extent.
Keep a spoon in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes and then cover the spoon with a cloth. Apply the cloth covered spoon on the affected skin directly until the spoon comes to room temperature and is no longer cold. Repeat this process several times for next 12 hours, until the hickey starts to lighten or fade a bit.
Keep some ice cubes in a cloth and gently press on your Hickey for about 30 minutes. An ice pack will help to prevent swelling around the hickey and reduce the pain a lot. Do not apply ice directly on the affected skin or Hickey as it can cause an ice burn. You can also use a washcloth dampened with cold water.
3. Cocoa Butter
Cocoa butter has high content of antioxidants and fatty acids which makes it to hydrate and nourish the skin effectively.Research have shown Healthy fats present in cocoa butter works as a powerful rejuvenating agent for bruises like hickies. Cocoa butter helps in smoothing scars, reduce stretch marks and wrinkles.It eliminates or fades away stubborn marks on skin. Cocoa butter helps with skin elasticity, which in turn improves the appearance of your skin. It is an excellent moisturizer and helps to promote growth of new skin tissues fast.
First apply some warm compress on the hickey and once the area is warm, apply a thick layer of cocoa butter cream.

4. Banana Peel

Cut the peel of yellow ripe banana and apply the peel directly on your hickey. Keep the inside of the banana peel on your hickey for at-least 10 to 15 minutes or until the banana peel turns brown. Repeat this process for three to four times in a day to reduce the appearance of the bruise.
5. Peppermint Oil
Pepper mint oil contains active ingredient Menthol which help to stimulate blood flow by improving blood circulation. Due to its antiseptic and antibacterial properties, Peppermint oil soothes the irritation of the bruise. This speeds up the process of healing the capillary vessels of hickey.
Pepper mint oil is an essential oil.So you need to mix with carrier oil. Add 1 to 2 drops of pepper mint oil along with 15 drops of carrier oil such as Almond oil or organic Jojoba oil. Apply peppermint oil gently on the affected skin area. You might feel some tingling sensation, but it will quickly go away. Do not use this remedy more than thrice in a day as it might irritate the skin.
Rub the oil into the affected area with light pressure. Too much pressure might make the bruise worse .
You can also apply peppermint-based toothpaste on the bruise or hickey for a few minutes. Once the tingling has stopped, wipe it off with a warm washcloth. Do not use this remedy more than twice in a day. Peppermint toothpaste works best to get rid of hickey in an hour. You must try using this remedy first as soon as you notice hickey.
6. Vitamin K Cream
Apply a thick layer of vitamin K cream or a cream which contains Vitamin k to the hickey three or four times in a day until the bruise completely disappear. Try to consume and eat more vitamin K-rich foods like Avocado, spinach, Cauliflower, soybean oil, fish oil and green leafy vegetable for next few days to get rid of hickey fast.
